The brief

A Comprehensive Electrical Design & Build for Bleckmann Logistics

Bennett Electrical was commissioned by Bleckmann Logistics to design and install the electrical infrastructure for their new 900,000 sq ft facility. The warehouse was an empty shell with only base-build electrical infrastructure in place. Our challenge was to deliver a fully operational power system to support the client’s material handling equipment (MHE) and wider operational needs.

What We Did

We worked closely with Bleckmann and their MHE supplier to develop a tailored electrical design, ensuring the system met operational demands and industry standards.
Key aspects of the project included:

  • Site power and temporary lighting Installed to support initial site operations and welfare facilities
  • High-level containment installation Providing structured electrical pathways throughout the warehouse.
  • Power infrastructure development Installed 8 x 250amp three-phase sub-mains and 4 new three-phase distribution boards.
  • Specialist installations Integrated switchgear for MHE equipment and power supplies for the sprinkler system.
  • Operational power connections Delivered power to bay doors, metering and MCCBs to existing panel boards, and an EV shunt charger.
  • Testing and commissioning Ensuring all systems met compliance and performed optimally.
  • As-built documentation Supplied detailed drawings and certification for future reference.

The Outcome

Despite tight deadlines, our team successfully delivered a high-quality electrical installation on schedule. By working proactively and efficiently, we exceeded Bleckmann’s expectations, ensuring their facility was fully equipped and ready for seamless logistics operations.

This project underscores Bennett Electrical’s expertise in delivering large-scale commercial electrical solutions with precision and reliability.
